Our Mission

Empowering Creatives Through Education, Mentorship & Business Development

Our mission is to foster a collaborative ecosystem that empowers emerging and underrepresented fashion industry creatives through education, mentorship, and business development, establishing clear pathways to sustainable creative businesses.

"New England is rich with creative talent. We exist to make sure that talent has every resource it needs to last."

Our Vision

Equitable Access for Every Fashion Creative in New England

A future where fashion creatives in New England have equitable access to the education, infrastructure, and collaborative networks needed to build sustainable and legacy-driven businesses.

Our Why

Why We Exist

New England is rich with creative talent, yet many fashion creatives lack the education, resources, and platforms needed to build lasting businesses — which is why we exist to create a collaborative fashion ecosystem that transforms creativity into sustainable, long-term impact.

How We Work

Our Five Core Pillars

01

Education & Skill Building

We provide structured learning that equips fashion creatives with both technical trade knowledge and business fundamentals needed to build sustainable brands.

Includes

Technical trade education · Business development workshops · Legacy brand-building education · Financial literacy

Why it matters

Addresses the regional education gap and workforce readiness.

02

Mentorship & Guidance

We connect emerging creatives with experienced mentors who provide real-world insight, accountability, and long-term guidance.

Includes

One-on-one mentorship · Industry office hours · Peer-to-peer learning · Long-term advisory relationships

Why it matters

Moves creatives from isolation to informed decision-making.

03

Platform & Visibility

We create platforms that give emerging creatives access to audiences, buyers, collaborators, and industry exposure.

Includes

Fashion shows and showcases · Curated events · Industry networking · Buyer and partner connections

Why it matters

Transforms creativity into opportunity.

04

Collaboration & Ecosystem Building

We build and sustain a connected fashion ecosystem that supports creatives beyond individual programs.

Includes

Shared creative spaces (future coworking hub) · Cross-disciplinary collaboration · Partnerships with institutions and businesses · Community-driven support networks

Why it matters

Ensures long-term sustainability beyond one-off events.

05

Business Sustainability & Legacy

We help creatives move beyond short-term success toward lasting, scalable creative businesses.

Includes

Business planning and strategy · Brand positioning · Growth readiness · Long-term sustainability frameworks

Why it matters

Shifts the focus from exposure to longevity.

What We Stand For

Core Values

01

Equity & Access

We believe opportunity in fashion should not be limited by geography, background, or access to capital. Emerging and underrepresented focus · Accessible education and programming · Inclusive entry points.

02

Collaboration Over Competition

We believe sustainable success is built through shared knowledge, mutual support, and collective growth. Community-centered programming · Partnerships over gatekeeping · Peer-to-peer learning models.

03

Sustainability Through Longevity

We define sustainability as building creative businesses that last, not just short-term trends or exposure. Legacy-focused education · Business readiness over hype · Responsible growth.

04

Action-Oriented Impact

We prioritize tangible pathways and practical outcomes over performative programming. Clear learning objectives · Career and business pathways · Measurable program outcomes.

05

Integrity & Accountability

We operate with transparency, intention, and responsibility to the creatives and communities we serve. Clear expectations · Ethical partnerships · Responsible stewardship of funding.

06

Creative Empowerment

We believe creatives deserve ownership, agency, and control over their work and futures. Business ownership education · Respect for creative autonomy · Support for individual vision.

How We Began

Built for What Was Missing

CFC began with Dina Akel — bridal designer and retail shop owner — participating in New Hampshire fashion shows and paying close attention. She talked with designers, models, stylists, and backstage staff, and heard the same thing over and over: the talent was there, but nothing was being built from it. Shows came and went. People showed up, performed, and went home. There was no continued relationship, no follow-through, no ecosystem. As a shop owner, Dina struggled to find and hire local creative talent — and so did her colleagues. The community existed, but it was fragmented and invisible to itself.

What was missing wasn't just a better event. It was a platform — a place where designers, models, artists, and industry professionals could grow together, collaborate across disciplines, and build real working relationships that lasted beyond a single show. CFC was founded to be exactly that: not a one-and-done runway, but a living community where every creative in New England has a real place to belong, to be seen, and to thrive.
